Bicycle
Safety
•
Always wear a helmet. It is the law for everyone under the age of 15
• Obey traffic
signs.
• Do not carry
passengers.
• Ride single file.
• Ride slowly through
gravel and sand.
• Do not ride at night
without proper lights and reflectors.
• Keep at least one
hand on the handlebars when in motion.
•
Do not carry bundles or
other articles. Use a basket.
• Do not attach a
trailer to any bicycle unless the trailer is designed to be attached to a
bicycle.
• Do not ride on
sidewalks, decks, tennis courts, docks, or boardwalks. (Except for the paths
around the Inner Lagoon)
•
Do not park bicycles on the sidewalk. Bicycle racks are provided
throughout Groton Long Point.
Parents
are responsible to help their children understand the
importance
of bicycle safety.
